vi ( "line<EOL>" -- ) a (Forth) programmer's text editor

  • split [-l NUMBER] FILE
       -l NUMBER  put NUMBER lines/records per output fileline numbers (default 1000 lines)
    
    suffix length is only 1, generated file names are like this: xa, xb, xc, ...
    split ( "line<EOL>" -- )  split a file into pieces
